Below is an example of an argumentative essay. Read the purpose of each section carefully. Note how each section links back to the thesis statement, and forward to the next section.
The organising principle here is 'scope'. The student has identified four key areas to analyse related to the topic of self-determination. The main arguments have been grouped around these four areas – in the same order as outlined in the introduction with the primary area of self determination appearing first.
